Ingredients

6 to 8 ice cubes

1 pitted Medjool date, roughly chopped

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1 frozen banana, roughly chopped

1 large tart-sweet apple, peeled, cored and roughly chopped

1/2 cup almond milk, plus more if needed

Step by step

  1. In order, combine almond milk, apple, banana, oats, vanilla, cinnamon, date and ice in blender jar of KitchenAid® Pro Line® Blender. Secure lid and set blender to Smoothie setting. Blend until machine turns itself off.

  2. Alternatively, combine ingredients in blender as directed, secure lid and turn dial to Speed 1. Slowly increase speed to high (Speed 10 or 11). Blend until completely smooth, about 30 seconds. If necessary, scrape down sides of jar with Flex Edge tamper.

  3. If smoothie is too thick, blend in splash or two of almond milk. Smoothie is best if served right away.

  4. Chef’s Tip: This fiber-rich smoothie includes a date for sweetness, which you can leave out or replace with 1 teaspoon honey.
